Tips on caring for Hair Extensions

Have you been thinking of getting hair extensions and don’t know what the rules are when it comes to caring for them. Follow these tips and rules when caring for you virgin hair extensions:

1.       Brush brush brush! Ensure that you brush your hair extensions at least twice a day to ensure there are no tangles. This will leave your extensions looking and feeling great.

2.       Do NOT brush your hair when it is wet or damp. You should always go through your hair with a wide toothed comb when it is wet or damp because it is at its most vulnerable.

3.       Use a sulphate free shampoo as sulphate can dry out the hair and remove all the important nutrients that are necessary for healthy hair.

4.       Only wash your hair with warm water. This will avoid damage to the hair extension.

5.       Wash your hair gently in a downward motion with your palms. Avoid scrubbing your hair as this will cause friction.

6.       When your hair extensions are wet add an essential oil as this will add much needed moisture to the hair extension.

7.       Let the hair dry. Put 2-3 hours aside to wash and naturally dry your hair.

8.       Moisturise your hair extension just as you would your skin.
